JMD needs your mining information

Just FYI ...

Jefferson Mining District is actively looking to develop a mining archive library for the benefit of the miners inside the lines of its jurisdictions.

At this time, we are seeking donations of articles, books, maps, mining records, photographs and other information pertaining to mining, roads and related topics in the following areas:

Oregon: Curry, Coos, Josephine, Jackson, Klamath, Lake, Douglas, Lane, Deschutes, Crook and Harney Counties.

California: Del Norte, Siskiyou, Modoc, Humboldt, Trinity, Shasta, Lassen, Plumas, Tehama, Mendocino, Lake, Glenn, Colusa, Sutter, Tuba, Sierra, Nevada, Placer, El Dorado, Amador, Alpine, Calavaeras, Sacramento, Yolo, Napa and Sonoma Counties.

Nevada: Carson City, Storey, Douglas, Pershing and Lyon Counties.

Donations of these materials, in print or digital format, is not only much appreciated, but essential to help preserve and protect our mining rights. In particular, we are looking for old maps that clearly show old roads and trails, as well as records pertaining to individual mines and mining areas. We also welcome first hand accounts from the old timers who have witnessed the mining history in their area.

If you are a miner inside of our district, we would also like to encourage you to take an active role in the Jefferson Mining District inside your particular mining area by volunteering to get involved in our important work.
